Our Story
What began in tragedy ended in a promise to never leave anyone behind.
When an armed intruder entered a local church, our community came together to support those who were traumatized. Everyone from neighbors to business leaders and elected officials offered as much help as they could.
But as is too often the case, life moved on for the unaffected, while it stood still for the rest of us. The systems that were supposed to help—social safety nets, referral networks, traditional insurance—fell short. Vulnerable individuals and families were left to face depression, addiction, and financial hardship without meaningful resources.
While the realization that we were on our own was disheartening, it’s what inspired us to act.
We began by creating the nation’s first workplace violence and infectious disease benefit. Over time, we expanded our offerings to meet more critical needs. Today, we are American Trauma Insurance—a trusted company that provides comprehensive, affordable trauma, life, and disability coverage.
We hope for a more peaceful, more predictable world. Until then, we’ll be here.
